Biomimic
Current Project: SolHeatWall
I am designing a solar chimney for the 21st century. In a time of increasing natural disasters and uncertain energy prices, the SolHeatWall offers consistency and affordability.
After graduating spring 2023 and spending the summer abroad, I am launching a nature inspired sustainable design startup.
Informed by natural phenomena and history, I am creating a low-cost, sustainable, and consistent method of thermal regulation for buildings.
Biomimetic Building Systems Specialist
I created a unique and challenging undergraduate degree program melding materials engineering, architectural design, and sociology to pursue a thesis research project on a bio inspired plastic and carbon waste sequestering building material.
I gained deeper experience designing sustainable biomimetic building innovations working with biomimicry firms in the US and Singapore.
Climate Solutions Innovator
I approach climate solutions with an interdisciplinary lens and a passion for creating healthy and regenerative innovations.
I find that the best design solutions come at the intersection of different fields, methods, and ways of understanding the world.
I cultivate a broad range of knowledge and skills that help me work with diverse teams toward a wide range of sustainability goals.
Working with Industry
I have worked for leading biomimicry firms in the US and Singapore
With Biomimicry Design Alliance (Denver CO) I worked with a team of biologists and architects to create a forthcoming database of biomimetic innovation ideas. My specialty was bio-brainstorming and concept mapping, using systems thinking to push the envelope on out of the box ideas.
At bioSEA (Singapore), I collaborated with ecologists, zoologists, architects, documentary makers, and designers on a project to innovate zero energy methods of keeping buildings cool in the tropics. I wrote and designed sections of a biomimicry toolkit and helped with field work.
