Atticus is interested in creating systemic solutions for major global problems using inspiration from nature to inform creative designs that make a future where people thrive with a healthy global ecosystem rather than at its expense.

Atticus Cummings is a native of Bozeman Montana. He was homeschooled until college, spending his time learning among the mountains and rivers he calls home. Atticus gained a deep passion for conservation from watching climate change effect Montana and the world, he also grew up making things and came to appreciate the beauty and efficiency of well evolved systems in nature. Together these grew into an interest in biomimetic climate change solutions. To pursue this topic he chose to attend Montana State University for the Honors Directed Interdisciplinary Studies program. He was awarded a Cameron Presidential Scholarship by MSU in 2021, and in 2022 he was awarded a Udall Scholarship and became a finalist for several other awards including the Rhodes Scholarship. Atticus believes that a diversity of opinions and experiences enhances both design and life, he has worked and studied around the world in many countries including Singapore, Switzerland, Nepal, Malaysia, and Germany.

In his free time Atticus likes to spend time outside hiking, canoeing, and camping, doing theater of all kinds, and playing traditional Scottish and Irish music with friends.
