Observational Sketching
Quick observation sketches of buildings and places help you slow down and see how something is made and how it fits into its context. Slowing down for just a moment to understand something a little deeper is essential for good design. Sometimes a sketch takes just a few seconds to show the flavor of a place while other times it can take an hour to convey what is there.
This is a collection of observation sketches from early summer 2022 when I was in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany to work on my German and train with the fencing coach at Fechtgeselshaft Basel.
